What is OPS-WASH?

OPS-WASH (Organised Private Sector in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) is an umbrella body for private sector collaboration and multi-stakeholder innovation. We are one body, with one goal- that is to end open defecation in Nigeria by 2025, and alleviate other water-related challenges in Nigeria.

Is OPS-WASH the only umbrella body for private sector collaboration in WASH in Nigeria?

Yes. Since OPS-WASH has been endorsed and inaugurated by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, we are the official ‘umbrella body’ for multi-stakeholder interventions in WASH in Nigeria.

Do we have to be a member of the private sector to become a member of OPS-WASH ?

No. OPS-WASH believes that a multi-stakeholder approach is the most effective way to resolve WASH challenges in Nigeria, and globally.

Zenith Water Projects, the promoter of OPS-WASH is a steering committee member of SWA (Sanitation and Water for All) which ultimately works with including governments, civil society and development partners, to work together as part of SWA to coordinate high-level action, and to improve accountability.
